Abilene Police Department Sponsors FREE Holiday Movie Night at the Paramount Theater on December 20
The Abilene Police Department will be sponsoring a FREE screening of the holiday comedy Elf at the historic Paramount Theater (352 Cypress St) in downtown Abilene on Monday, December 20, 2021.
Do you need tickets to see Elf at the Paramount?
Elf has a runtime of an hour and 37 minutes. Doors will open at 5:30 PM on Monday, December 20, and the movie will begin at 6 PM.
Thanks to the Abilene Police Department, Elf at the Paramount Theatre is FREE to students in the Abilene and Wylie Independent School Districts. Tickets and/or prior registration is not required for this event. Popcorn and drinks will also be provided free of charge.
For safety purposes, students age 12 or under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. (And yes, parents, you are welcome to stay and watch the movie.)
As part of their community outreach efforts, Abilene Police Department officers will be on hand to welcome students, coordinate seating, work the concession stand, and chaperone the event.
In the years since its release in 2003, Elf has gleefully made its way into the family-friendly holiday canon. Will Ferrell leads an ensemble cast (Zooey Deschanel, James Caan, Peter Dinklage) through a hilarious Christmas romp about the importance of family and the spirit of Christmas.
You can watch the hilarious and oh-so-quotable trailer below:
Buddy, a human raised by elves at Santa Claus' North Pole workshop, sets off for New York City to reconnect with his biological father, a hard-hearted publishing executive. He manages to befriend his half-brother, fall in love with a disgruntled department store employee, and save Christmas when Santa's sleigh crashes in Central Park, all while adjusting to life in the "real" world.
