TNT’s Snowpiercer is officially rolling forward. The new TV series adaptation of Bong Joon-ho’s 2013 cult classic at last has a series order, based on the strength of its Scott Derrickson-directed pilot.

The network confirmed as much early Wednesday, albeit without specifying an actual premiere date or exact episode order. The new series features Hamilton alum Daveed Diggs as Layton Well, a prisoner barely surviving the harsh conditions in the tail end of the train, along with Jennifer Connelly as Melanie Cavill, a first-class passenger who works as the voice of the train. Here’s what TNT programming EVP Sarah Aubrey said of the pickup:

I’m a personal fan of Bong Joon-ho’s epic film, and jumped at the chance to honor his original vision, yet expand upon the world and characters with a diverse, award-winning cast. Science fiction is the perfect genre to examine issues of race, class, gender and natural resources with thought-provoking and exciting storytelling. Snowpiercer will explore those relevant issues while embarking on a wild, action-filled ride.

Additional cast includes Mickey Sumner, Susan Park, Benjamin Haigh, Sasha Frolova, Katie McGuinness, Alison Wright, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand and Lena Hall. The 2013 film starred the likes of Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, Octavia Spencer, Jamie Bell, Ed Harris, John Hurt and Alison Pill. Doctor Strange director Derrickson also executive produces TNT’s new take on the South Korean sci-fi film from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles writer Josh Friedman.

We’ll hopefully see photos or footage before long, but watch the original trailer below and stay tuned for the latest on TNT’s Snowpiercer.
