Kanye West Gets Shout-Out From President Donald Trump During Today’s Cabinet Meeting
The lovefest between President Donald Trump and Kanye West rages on. After 'Ye announced that he’s going to wear the MAGA hat throughout the new year, Trump shouted him out during his first Cabinet meeting of 2019 on Wednesday (Jan. 2).
During the two-hour meeting, Trump discussed a myriad of topics, including the need to have $5.6 billion to build a wall, the ongoing government shut down and he mused on how he might have made a good general himself.
According to reports, Trump also shouted out Kanye. CNBC reporter Ylan Q. Mui tweeted that Trump called the Grammy-nominated producer a “smart, a good guy.”
This news comes after Kanye went on his Twitter account and reaffirmed his support for No. 45. "Trump All Day," he tweeted in a post that three dragon emojis to represent the supposed "dragon energy" he shares with the president.
"Just so in 2019 you know where I stand," he continued. "One of my favorite of many things that the trump hat represents to me is that people can’t tell me who I should do because I’m black. That’s real racism. From now on I’m performing with my mutherfucking hat on."
Interestingly, a couple weeks back, Yeezy's G.O.O.D. Music cohort Pusha-T told Trevoh Noah of The Daily Show that Kanye stopped wearing the MAGA hat. But it now appears that won't be the case.
