Abilene's Meals on Wheels Plus program feeds well over 1450 people every day. Those being fed live in and around Abilene. They cannot feed themselves and are either elderly or have disabilities or both.
By participating in or donating to the Meals on Wheels Plus Annual Sporting Clays Classic, you will be helping to feed those who can't feed themselves. The Clay Shoot is Saturday, August 20th, 2022.
The clay shoot will be held at the Abilene Sporting Clays South range at 1102 E.Spur 707, Saturday, August 20th, beginning promptly at 8:30 AM and going until the last shooters complete or at 11:30m AM. There will be a couple of raffles and an auction, so get your tickets early.
The Clay Shoot sign-up comes with breakfast, a BBQ lunch from Sharon's, and a chance to win door prizes.
An individual entry fee is only $150 per shooter. Each shooter gets 100 targets, a continental breakfast, and raffle tickets for a special 12-gauge shotgun, along with other items that will be raffled off. Plus, all registered shooters will also get a 15th Annual Sporting Clays Classic event t-shirt and a Barbecue lunch from Sharon Allen’s Barbeque Restaurant.
Please register in advance by calling Meals on Wheels at 325-672-5050 or email her at: JAndrade@mealsonwheelplus.com. Sponsorships are needed and still available just contact Meals on Wheels Plus, Development Director Jessica Andrade at the above number.
Proceeds from this event will help provide home-delivered meals and safety checks for the elderly and adults with disabilities in Abilene and the surrounding area. Meals on Wheels Plus also assists by helping to feed the pets of those they help.
If you can't participate but are able to help, several multi-level sponsorships and or donation opportunities are still available ranging in price from $250 to $5,000.
