Trump Tweets Out Support For College Football
If you haven't noticed, college football is on the brink due to the coronavirus pandemic. Over the weekend the MAC college football conference announced they would not play football games this Fall. Instead, the MAC hopes to play in the Spring but there are no guarantees that would happen.
On Monday, reports were circulating that the Big-10 and PAC-12 conference would both cancel their Fall seasons as well as soon as Tuesday. Reports on social media claim that other conferences, like the Big-12, are still undecided on how to proceed with college football this year.
Amid all of the reports about college football, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to express his support of the college football season. Trump said that players have worked "too hard for their season to be cancelled". Trump then used the hashtag #WeWantToPlay while retweeting Trevor Lawrence who is the Quarterback for the Clemson Tigers.
Lawrence and other college football players have been vocal on Twitter and other forms of social media about their desire to play.
President Trump has been a big proponent of sports starting back up amid the coronavirus pandemic. He has tweeted his support of NASCAR, Major League Baseball, and now college football.
The college football season is certainly in doubt. KFYO will have the latest should anything break regarding Texas Tech Football.
