I don't care what anyone says, Christmas officially begins the day after Halloween! It is never too early to start putting up the tree, the lights, and all the Christmas things. To each his own, I guess, but my family, specifically my children, love Christmas and love putting up the tree as early as possible to enjoy it longer. If you love the sights and sounds of the holidays as much as we do, have I got a suggestion for you.

Apparently, there are towns here in Texas that go all out for Christmas and I knew that I needed to share this information with as many people as possible. I'm talking 'holiday happenings,' decorating, tours, and all things festive!

TOP 5 CHRISTMAS CITIES TO VISIT IN TEXAS:

5. Galveston

I hear the Christmas spirit abounds along the Texas coast with several Christmas events that take place every year. I have visited one attraction in particular, not during the holidays, but it is fabulous year-round, so I can imagine what it is like this time of year. Moody Gardens transforms into a Winter Wonderland with ice slides, an outdoor skating rink, and a Festival of Lights.

4. College Station

Of course, many Texans know it to be a college town, but have you ever been to Santa's Wonderland in this town? It is a holiday village with snow, an outdoor screen that plays Christmas movies, hayrides, a Christmas parade, live music, and Christmas lights galore!

3. San Antonio

The Riverwalk at Christmas is a sight. I've experienced it. Thousands of beautiful Christmas lights twinkle as you stroll along and the Holiday Light Fest features a one-hour parade where live music and illuminated floats are sure you get in you in the Christmas spirit. Fiesta de las Luminarias with more than 2,000 glowing luminaries takes place every year in December.

2. Fredericksburg

The Christmas market to kick off the holiday season is a must in this town. The local chamber's Light the Night Christmas parade takes place down the main street where you can gather your family with blankets and chairs and enjoy, then follow that up with some holiday eats and drinks at the AfterGlow at Marktplatz.

1. Grapevine

I mean it's not called The Christmas Capital of Texas for nothing. If you have not experienced a Grapevine, TX Christmas, have you even lived? Two words-Gaylord Texan. This resort is located in Grapevine, the Gaylord at Christmas is something that you must experience at least once in your lifetime. Fabulous ice sculptures and slides at the manmade ICE! display, featuring over 2 million pounds of ice, not to mention the 100-foot Christmas tree. Decorate Christmas cookies, visit Santa and Mrs. Claus and fall in love with Grapevine, TX at Christmastime without a doubt!
