According to this week's AAA Texas Gas Watch, the average price of regular unleaded gas was unchanged from last week.  The average price is $1.53 a gallon, down 58 cents from one year ago.  This week's national average is $1.72 a gallon, up two cents from last week.

Of the cities surveyed by AAA Texas, Dallas has the most expensive gas average $1.58 a gallon for regular unleaded. Amarillo is the cheapest at $1.41 a gallon. Many gas stations in Lubbock are selling regular unleaded between $1.39 to $1.49 a gallon.

“Texans are now paying $21 to fill up the average 14-gallon size fuel tank which is about $8 less per fill up than last year,” said AAA Texas/New Mexico Representative Doug Shupe. “With these lower prices compared to recent years and the 100-year anniversary of the National Park System, travelers might want to consider a road trip to a National Park this coming spring and summer.
