Being that I was born with only one arm, I use it twice as much as a normal person. So recently I've started experiencing some, what I call serious hand cramps and/or unexplained pain. It usually occurs early in the evening and sometimes around bedtime.

After checking with my physician, he said that, I've really worn down the ligaments in my wrist, elbow and knuckle joints. Then he says that for my pain, I would have to start taking pain relieving medication. However, after seeing friends and family struggle with opioid addiction and the problems associated with them, I said no.

At first I started using a hot paraffin with natural oils. Then at the recommendation of a doctor my wife worked for. That physician said that she cannot prescribe this but recommended that I try both topical and digestible essential oils with cannabidiol aka CBD oils.

At first I thought, cannabis? "That's the marijuana plant, I'm not doing that it's against the law." Until I did my own research and discovered that CBD is not THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) the intoxicant that marijuana is known for.

"CBD is closely related to another important medicinally active phytocannabinoid: tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the compound that causes the high that cannabis is famous for. These are the two components of cannabis that have been most studied by scientists.

Both CBD and THC have significant therapeutic attributes. But unlike THC, CBD does not make a person feel “stoned” or intoxicated. That’s because CBD and THC act in different ways on different receptors in the brain and the body."  Source: Project CBD

After my eureka moment, both my wife and I set out to buy a CBD essential oil that I could take orally and one I could apply topically. We soon discovered that nobody in Abilene carried such a product. My wife, who orders nearly everything off of the internet soon had said oils delivered at the house.

Immediately after taking my first dose and applying the topical CBD essentials, I noticed that the pain faded away within twenty minutes. Finally, I was able to get sleep and go painless through the night. If you ask me today, 'cannabidiol' should be available everywhere and to everyone.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago when I learned that Abilene has it's first brick and mortar CBD and essential oils store, New Health 365. I've recently started taking the the CBD oils New Health 365 carries. The big difference is first, I can read the labels of the oils I bought at New Health, unlike the stuff my wife was ordering from the internet. Second I was paying a lot more for what we were getting off the internet.

In closing, I've learned that the words 'cannabis', 'hemp' and 'cannabidiol' are not bad words and that cannabis has a prominent place in the medical field. For years I was one of those that is misinformed and/or not knowledgeable about the benefits of these marvelous CBD infused oils that relieve all my pain and allow me to feel great again.
