First off, in the "10 Commandments of Abilene", the 8th commandment says "Thou shalt always eat at the new restaurant on its opening day" so get ready to start eating.

Okay, so here are the new restaurants that are going to be opening up soon, between now and the first of next year. The first one is one I'm a huge fan of, Bahama Bucks. Bahama Bucks refers to themselves as the "original shaved ice company" where you can get shaved ice, snowballs, and snow cones.

Then there's the "Twisted Root Burger Company" which serves up incredible burgers, many packed with wild, exotic game. Twisted Root was also featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, back in 2009.. Then we've got "The Biscuit Bar" coming too, where they make biscuits into everything that is breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and don't forget the adult drinks too.

Even more coming to Abilene's Allen Ridge, but closer to the end of the year, include Summer Moon Coffee Shop, which by the photos below looks like they have some delicious coffees and some James Bond 007 expresso's that are "shaken not stirred!"

Also, if you're into tavern foods, you're going to love the new Cork & Pig Tavern, which features an exciting, chef driven blend of brick oven pizzas, salads, sandwiches, and signature entrées.
