Bahama Bucks is finally back in Abilene however, it has had to close down early due to the inclement weather. The owner was scheduled to open Bahama Bucks in August of 2020, but due to the coronavirus and the pandemic, the opening was moved to 2022.

I am a Bahama Bucks fan and have been since the time it opened at 3910 Buffalo Gap Road back in 2006. It closed down and a Mexican food restaurant named Alfredo's is in that building now.

By taking a closer look at the old Bahama Buck's (above photo) those huge Palm trees are an easy giveaway of what once was there. The new Bahama Bucks is located at the corner of Ambler and Judge Ely Boulevard in the new Allen Ridge shopping center.

The new building gives you the feel of a tropical island retreat. However, with the recent snow and ice, it looks a bit out of place. Nonetheless, the New Bahama Bucks is here and I am a happy man, so long as I can get my Bahama Bucks dessert drinks like the Oreo Cookie Shaved Ice, a Mango Tango, the Oasis, or the Bahama Coladas.

While they posted on their doors and on their social media sights they are opening until 5 pm during this storm and until they can get past these small hurdles. At least they're here and the new Allen Ridge shopping center continues to grow. I'll see you there.
