Warmer weather approaches it's time to start thinking about the great outdoors and where to go swimming in Abilene. Here are the best pools around Abilene to kick off the 2013 swimming season.

Abilene State Park - Pool

The pool and concessions will open Saturday May 25, 2013. Pool hours are 11am till 7pm. Kids age 12 and under get in free, 13 and older pay $4. This pool has a high diving board. For more information about the Abilene State Park and its pool, please visit the Abilene State Park website.


Oscar Rose and Stevenson Park - Pools

The Oscar Rose and Stevenson Park pools are operated by the City of Abilene. Jeff White, Recreation Administrator for the City of Abilene says the two pools will be open Saturday, May 25, 2013. They're open from 1pm till 6pm Tuesday through Sunday. Admission is $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for children 5 and over. If you need more information, you can visit the City of Abilene website.


The Dive Spot

The Dive Spot opens on Memorial Day Monday, May 27, 2013. Typically hours are Monday through Friday from 1pm till 5pm. The Dive Spot may be rented for private parties on weekends by calling 325-673-DIVE(3483) or Visit the Dive Spot's website for more information.


The YMCA Indoor Pools

Both YMCA pools are indoors and are open year round. You do not have to be a member and the cost is only $7.00 for anyone ages 18 and over, it's $5.00 for ages 17 and under. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 11am till 8:30pm, Saturdays 10am till 5:30pm and Sundays 12:00pm till 5:30pm.
