The Western Heritage Classic Comes to Abilene May 9th-12th
Get ready for the Western Heritage Classic coming to Abilene May 9th through May 12th. It all gets started with the infamous Western Heritage parade in Downtown Abilene on Thursday, May 9th.
The parade route starts at the Taylor County Courthouse and goes North onto Pine Street. then onto N. 6th and onto Cypress Street going south, east on North 1st the it finishes on Oak Street back by the Taylor County Courthouse.
There are a lot of fun things to see and do at this years event. check out the worlds largest Bit and Spur Trade Show, the Chuck Wagon Cook-Off, matched horse races, a nightly children's rodeo, cowboy poets, western artisans, ranch horse clinics, the Ranch Horse Association of America's National Finals Rodeo and live entertainment nightly.
The concerts will feature Kelby Hodges and the Moonlight Bandits Friday night and Jake Hooker and the Outsiders Saturday night. Both will perform after the nightly rodeo. Then of course there's always cowboy poetry and acoustic music throughout the weekend.
