Monday, May 23rd, Texas finally received a bit of rain. However, some of the storms that crawled through the Lone Star State produced some severe weather, particularly in Morton, Texas where a monster twister touched down.

The tornado was captured by several storm chasers including Ohio Storm Chasers who posted one of the most captivating tornado videos I've seen.

As you can see in the video, the tornado was a monster. The twister uprooted trees and destroyed buildings as it carved a path through Morton as well as Levelland. Morton is about 56 miles to the west of Lubbock, Texas.

National Weather Service in Lubbock also tweeted a few pictures including this one that shows just how massive this tornado was.


Others were also able to capture the dangerous twister on video as well, highlighting how dangerous and destructive mother nature can be.  

As of this writing, there have been no reports of any deaths or even injuries at this time. All we know is that this twister was absolutely huge. Just goes to show you that during the storm season, you never know when a twister is going to pop up in Texas and how big they're going to be. Stay safe out there.
