She won two Golden Globes, she swept the Emmys, and now Midge is ready to be big. The titular comic of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is finally back after dominating awards, and in Season 2 she’ll be back on stage to crack more jokes and spill more truth about the realities of being a female comic, and just a woman in general.

The Amazon comedy from Amy Sherman-Palladino gave Rachel Brosnahan the leading role she’s long deserved as Midge Maisel, and also gave her an Emmy and Golden Globe. The second season will follow her Manhattan housewife as she continues to grip the attention of the New York City comedy scene.

Here’s the official synopsis:

After Midge’s triumph at the Gaslight, the fallout from her takedown of Sophie Lennon looms large, making her climb up the comedy ladder more challenging than ever. As the actual grind of being a comic begins to take its toll on Midge, the pressure to come clean to her family weighs on her – especially as her choices have a ripple effect on everyone around her.

In Season 2 all the regulars are back, including Alex Bornstein’s Susie Myerson, Tony Shalhoub and Marin Hinkle as Midge’s parents, Michael Zegan’s Joel, and Luke Kirby’s Lenny Bruce, while Zachary Levi joins in a recurring role. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel returns to Amazon Prime for Season 2 on December 5.
