Texas Governor Receives The Blue Shield Award From State Troopers
Texas Governor Greg Abbott was the topic of praise and discussion at the Governor's Mansion in Austin yesterday, where he was honored by the Texas Rangers and the Texas State Troopers Association.
While Governor Abbott reaffirmed the State of Texas' unwavering support for our troopers and all law enforcement, he himself then became the center of attention when he was given the Blue Shield Award.
The Governor was truly surprised to receive the Texas Department Of Public Safety Association's Blue Shield Award, which is only given to public servants who demonstrate exceptional commitment and dedication to defending all law enforcement officers.
It was during that lunch ceremony that Governor Abbott had been delivering remarks at the Troopers Association Award Presentation when the Governor received the association's most prestigious Blue Shield Award.
The Governor Has Relied On The State Troopers To Help With Border Security
As of late, the Governor's office has relied on the Troopers, Texas Rangers, and the Texas National Guard to help keep the border secured and make Texas a safer place for all Texans to reside. Furthermore, the Governor has reached out to the state troopers not just for help but also for guidance throughout this "un-locked border wall crisis."
Gov. Abbott was surprised by the Troopers.
"Texas is a law-and-order state, and we will always ensure that our law enforcement officers have the resources and support they need to keep our communities safe," said Governor Abbott. "That is why I was proud to sign legislation that reforms our broken bail system, enhances protections for law enforcement officers in the line of duty, and stops cities from defunding the police. Nothing is more important than the safety and security of our communities, and I thank the members of the Texas State Troopers Association and all our law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line every day to serve and protect their fellow Texans."
