‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5’ Concept Art Reveals Ghastly Sharks Ahead of Tomorrow’s New Trailer
After four films, you’d think Disney could come up with another villain for Pirates of the Caribbean besides water-logged ghosts. As it turns out, the fifth film does have something different to offer, sort of. New concept art for Dead Men Tell No Tales reveals a formidable addition to the spooky seas: Ghost sharks. Maybe we’ll see them in action in the new trailer, which arrives tomorrow.
AMC Theatres debuted new concept art for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales ahead of tomorrow’s trailer premiere. The artwork features some very angry-looking sharks, which also happen to be ghosts because what’s scarier than bloodthirsty sharks? Their vengeful ghosts.
Disney also tweeted out a new poster for the upcoming sequel along with an announcement regarding that trailer:
Unfortunately, we have no idea when or where the trailer will first appear, but we’ll have it up as soon as it’s available.
Johnny Depp (and his hat) return as Captain Jack Sparrow in Dead Men Tell No Tales, which also stars Brenton Thwaites and Kaya Scodelario as new protagonists Henry and Carina. Javier Bardem plays the villainous Captain Salazar, the latest in a line of sea-ghosts eager to kill Jack Sparrow:
Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea… including him. Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.
Geoffrey Rush is also returning to reprise his role as Captain Barbossa for the fifth film in the series, directed by Kon-Tiki duo Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales hits theaters on May 26.
