Another month has come and (almost) gone in Texas. As August ends, the unfortunate truth is that numerous kids, the majority of young girls, have gone missing in the state.

The issue of children going missing is not only confined to Texas, this is something seen nationally. But no matter where kids are going missing, it is tragic. It's impossible to understand what these children and their loved ones are thinking and feeling at this moment. But I can predict feelings of loss, fear, and panic.

What I do know is that every tip, big or small, could help bring children in Texas back to their loved ones.

While it isn't always the case that more girls go missing, it does happen often. As such, this story will focus on the young ladies who have disappeared in hopes that I and readers could help reunite these families.

How many Texas girls have gone missing?

According to information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, 13 girls have gone missing since the start of August. With a couple of days left in the month, I truly hope no more disappear.

These girls span from the age of 7 to 17. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children does not report on those over 18.

Visiting the site shows photos of each missing girl, their names, ages, when they were last seen, and occasionally additional information provided by the guardian who reported them missing.

Look through these photos and see if you recognize any of these faces. Any information could lead to finding these girls! If you have a tip, call 1-800-843-5678 OR the local police/sheriff station listed below each photo.

13 Young Girls Have Gone Missing This August in Texas

It's terrifying to think what could happen to these missing girls in Texas. Look through these photos and see if you recognize any of these young ladies. Even the smallest tip can help bring them home.

If you have information, call 1-800-843-5678 OR the local police station listed under the photos.

Why Have these girls gone missing?

While the important thing is that these girls make it home safely, not why they went missing, it is still a question often asked.

I cannot give you a straight answer, as that's information only the families can choose to share.

What I can tell you, and this is according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, is that in the case of missing children, it can often be due to them running away, or being abducted by one of their parents.

But this is certainly not always the case and should not be immediately assumed. No matter why a child goes missing they could be in danger, so the priority is always to help find them, not try and guess their circumstances.
