Texas Mall Brawl Caught on Camera

Shoppers at a Houston, Texas mall recently expected a nice relaxing day of shopping and eating but were treated to a scene that was way more than they bargained for.

X user @ih3art4kayy posted the video at the bottom of this article which features a massive brawl taking over the food court. Let's break down the footage!

Fight Fight

The video opens right in the middle of the action. A group of young rascals swings their fists wildly at each other in the middle of the food court. As per usual when an altercation breaks out, several women can be heard screaming at the tops of their lungs and yelling "Oh my God!" over and over.

What's With the Screaming?

So why do the ladies scream when they see a fight? That is a very typical reaction of most mammals and birds, to scream like crazy can seriously disturb the focus of the animals fighting - usually, this would be a predator versus prey scenario.

In a tribal setting, where men are away hunting and women stay to protect the children, a woman's scream will alert many to an attack on the village - the women would be able to summon other humans from greater distances the louder, higher, and more frenzied the scream is. Men typically shout or howl rather than scream because a scream only carries if it is shrill.
