Clowns and Halloween, for whatever reason, seem to go together really well. Over the years, there have numerous instances of people dressing up as clowns and terrorizing communities. It's odd, but clowns have an easy time instilling fear in the hearts of people. In Amarillo, Texas, one such clown got arrested and unfortunately, for them, cameras were rolling.

JAIL TV Show Films Episode In Amarillo, And Strikes Halloween Gold

Back in 2016, the JAIL TV show was filmed in Amarillo, Texas. We know this thanks to episode 16 of season 5. The basic premise of the show is to pick up where COPS leaves off. COPS films suspects being arrested, JAIL films suspects "entering the criminal justice system". It's an interesting spin on the usual film crew following law enforcement around trope. We get to see them doing fingerprints, making phone calls, and everything else you might expect.

In this episode of JAIL, officers in Amarillo, Texas find themselves dealing with a creepy clown around Halloween time. As you might expect, none of the law enforcement officials seem amused by the clownish hijinks.

All that most of them have to say is that the suspect is lucky they didn't get shot by a gun-wielding Texan. This sentiment is shared a comical number of times during the segment. It would make for a fun drinking game. Take a drink everytime an officer tells the clown they're lucky the didn't get shot because "Texas loves guns".

What Lands A Clown In Jail In Amarillo, Texas? Being Dumb In A Walmart Parking Lot.

The suspect was picked up because they were supposedly terrorizing people in a Walmart parking lot. He would run at random people and more than likely got a kick out of watching scatter. These unsuspecting individuals came face to face with one of the dumbest ideas a criminal has had, and it led to horror.

The whole segment is cringe-inducing fun with a Halloween twist. The suspect didn't mean any harm. He even tries cracking some jokes with officers. He's just trying to have the most misguided good time of all time. I couldn't help myself and laughed out loud when he admitted he bought the costume that very day. That's like getting a toy at Christmas and breaking it 20 minutes later.

It gets worse for our clown. When it's discovered he's going to be held because of some warrants, we get to listen to a phone call where he tries to arrange for someone to bail him out. It doesn't end well. Poor guy just wanted to share some frights in the spirit of Halloween and wound up in orange Crocs. On the bright side, they probably fit better than clown shoes.

What Is A Day Like In Texas Prisons? A View From Both Sides Of The Bars

Have you ever wondered what life inside a Texas prison is really like? I asked friends who are correction officers and folks who have volunteered at jails. I also asked former inmates, and browsed forums and articles with current and former inmates. Put all together, it paints what I hope is a fairly accurate picture of daily prison life in Texas.
