Can You Park a Car in Your Yard in Lubbock?

According to the City of Lubbock's website, a neighbor is allowed to report you if you have a parked vehicle on an unpaved surface, like your driveway or next to the curb on the street (make sure you are facing the right way!).

In areas where there are curbed and guttered streets, all vehicles (including trailers) that are within the established front yard setback must be parked only on driveways or on paved off-street parking areas. Approved paving surfaces are asphalt, paving bricks, or concrete only. If a lot has no paved driveway, all vehicles must be parked straight in from the curb cut. Vehicles may not block the sidewalk or be parked in the area between the sidewalk and curb.

That last sentence is interesting, too. I've seen plenty of folks park their motorcycles on the sidewalk, which is rude for pedestrians, especially the disabled. I never knew if it was technically allowed or not.

Can You Get a Ticket for Parking in Your Yard in Lubbock?

Yep. If you are found to be violating this rule, you can receive a citation "without warning," so ignorance of the rule won't save you, and you don't get a free whoopsie.
