Since I was a young boy, I've had a coin collection. Actually, it was my dad's and I was proud to inherit it. Although I don't have as much interest in collecting nowadays, some folks do. Coin collecting is some serious business.

Whether you're a collector or not, we all have coins lying around. Some are in the car, in jars around the house, or even in the cushions of your couch. What I'm about to share might make you want to round them up once again.

The U.S. Sun has reported rare Washington quarters that were minted in 1932 have a current value upwards of $200. The special thing about this coin is its date, as it commemorates the bicentennial of U.S. President George Washington's birthday.

According to the website CoinStudy, mints in Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco all produced Washington quarters in 1932. The two most valuable to the series are mint-marked with a "D" or "S".

There's a chance you could be holding onto one right now. To locate where the coin was produced, look for the mintmark on the American Eagle side of the coin, right above the words "Quarter Dollar". Which letter you see will determine the location where the coin was minted.

Should you be lucky enough to find one of these Washington quarters, there's one more thing to consider - its condition. A coin in good condition always fetches more. Abilene has quite a few coin shops and dealers where you can have your coins graded and your questions answered.

With a few of these quarters in your collection, you could be sitting on a stack of cash. A little extra income is never a bad thing. It'll sure come in handy should you decide to move to one of the richest cities in Texas. Look below to view your options.
