Ride the Hills of Buffalo Gap and Help Close Gaps in Healthcare
When I was a kid growing up here in Texas, my bike was freedom. I'd hop on that thing and disappear for hours. No GPS. No cell phone. No notifications. Just me, my friends, and whatever adventure we could find before the streetlights came on.
So what happened?
At some point, a lot of us traded bike rides for office chairs, lawn mowers, and scrolling through our phones while sitting on the couch. That's why I think the Tour de Gap is such a cool event.

More Than a Bike Ride Through Buffalo Gap

Coming up Saturday, July 25, cyclists will hit the scenic hills of Buffalo Gap for the annual Tour de Gap. Riders can choose from 11-mile, 50K, or 100K routes that wind through some of the prettiest roads you'll find in the Big Country.
Whether you're a hardcore cyclist or somebody who hasn't ridden a bike since your kids were little, there's a route for you.
And honestly, that's what makes this event special.
Miles That Matter

The Tour de Gap isn't just about exercise or seeing how fast you can pedal.
The ride benefits the Presbyterian Medical Care Mission, a local organization that has been helping provide affordable healthcare to low-income and uninsured adults since 1983.

Their team provides primary care, prescription assistance, diabetes management, hypertension care, preventive care, and more for people who might otherwise fall through the cracks. They've served more than 50,000 patients and continue helping thousands every year.
That's a cause worth sweating for.
Maybe It's Time To Dust Off The Bike
Let's be honest. Most of us could use a little more fresh air and a little less screen time. The Tour de Gap is a chance to challenge yourself, enjoy the beautiful scenery around Buffalo Gap, and support a mission that directly impacts lives right here in the Big Country.
Who knows? You might just remember why you loved riding a bike in the first place.
