Six More Texas Massage Parlors Shut Down in Human Trafficking Crackdown
Here we go again. Another wave of massage parlors in Texas has been shut down after the state uncovered more shady operations tied to human trafficking.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) just slapped emergency six-month closure orders on six more massage parlors that were allegedly offering more than just deep tissue relief.

What Investigators Found In Texas
According to the TDLR, the recently shuttered parlors had more red flags than a bad Tinder date. Investigators say there was credible evidence of human trafficking, unlicensed workers, no client consultation forms, and sexual paraphernalia and costumes. Some employees were reportedly living on-site.

Texas Cracks Down On Massage Parlors
This is part of a much bigger crackdown. Since late last year, the TDLR has issued 49 emergency orders, hit 68 massage-related businesses, and revoked 51 licenses tied to human trafficking investigations. Texas is clearly trying to clean house. That's a good thing.

If something about a massage business or salon seems off to you, don’t ignore it. According to a TDLR press release, Texans can report suspicious activity directly to the agency.
Texans who believe that an unlicensed massage business may be operating near them, or who are concerned that nail salon employees may be human trafficking victims, can now report those concerns directly to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation via email: reportHT@tdlr.texas.gov – Tela Mange, TDLR Public Information Officer
It’s ugly stuff, but this kind of enforcement is necessary. If you see something sketchy, say something, because real healing shouldn’t come at the cost of someone else’s freedom through human trafficking.
