Haunted Abilene Transforms Swenson House Into Pirates of the Scare-ibbean in Texas
October is here, and it’s time to get our scare on here in Texas. One place you don’t want to overlook in Abilene is the Swenson House, which is back for another epic adventure at this iconic and historic house.
All Aboard the SS Swenson… if You Dare
Pirates, phantoms, and a watery curse wash ashore at Swenson House this Halloween season! Haunted Abilene presents “Pirates of the Scare-ibbean: Curse of the SS Swenson,” October 24–25, 2025, where our beloved historic mansion becomes a haunted sea vessel gone terribly wrong.

Ticket Prices For Haunted Abilene At Swenson House
- Tickets are $15 for entry—kids 5 and under get free boarding (so long as an adult pays).
- If you’re gutsy enough, upgrade your experience with the $5 Bonus Scare Tour (13+) for extra chills.
- Saturday features a Kid’s Hour from 5:30–6:30 pm—perfect for little buccaneers who prefer less terror before sunset.
- Full-scare hours (7–10 pm) run both nights.
Ghosts, Grog & Games
This isn’t just about jump scares (though, trust me, you’ll get plenty). Outside, you’ll find food trucks to feed your mortal cravings, arts & crafts for the kiddos, and lawn games to settle your nerves between hauntings.
Inside, the Swenson House in Texas transforms into a shipwrecked passenger liner cursed off the coast of St. Thomas. Think pirates, phantoms, sea monsters, and dark curses that never quite sank.
Interview With Swenson House In Abilene
I had a chance to sit down with Tami from Haunted Abilene. Let me tell you—they’ve put their heart, soul, and a dash of ghostly mischief into making this year’s theme the most terrifying yet. Hearing them describe the scares, you could almost feel the cold sea mist roll in. Just click that play button.
Why You Should Go (Besides Bragging Rights)
Every ticket sold helps keep the historic Swenson House alive—this eerie event is volunteer-powered, and all proceeds go toward its upkeep.
So grab your e-ticket, summon some courage, and get ready for a night of paranormal piracy. Hop aboard… or walk the plank. Either way, it’s going to be super Halloweeny. (Yes, I’m sticking with that word) at the Swenson House in Abilene.
