Founders Breakfast Stout and KBS: Two Must-Try Beers Texans Are Loving Right Now
This week on The Weekend Buzz in Texas, we’re going full stout mode. You know, the kind of beers that make you want to put on a flannel, light a candle, and pretend you understand coffee aromas.
Founders Brewing has two incredible brews that I thoroughly love. Breakfast Stout and KBS, two absolute monsters in the stout universe, and yes… yours truly is ready to dive in face-first.
Breakfast Stout: The “It’s Basically a Meal” Beer
Let’s start with Breakfast Stout. This bad boy has roasted coffee, chocolate, and oatmeal all rolled into one thick, decadent sipper. If your morning routine included this, you’d probably win the day… or take a three-hour nap.

Either way, it’s double chocolatey, super smooth, and brings enough coffee flavor to make your brain go, “Are we working today or…?”
KBS: The Bourbon-Barrel Beast
Then we step into the deep end with KBS, AKA “The Stout People Argue About on Craft Beer Forums.” This imperial stout starts rich and chocolatey, but then the bourbon barrel aging kicks the door down with notes of vanilla, oak, and a 12% ABV that politely says, “You’re gonna feel me later.”
KBS is bold, smooth, and straight-up legendary. It’s one of those beers you sip slowly because you want to enjoy every ounce, and because if you don’t, the beer will win.
Catch the Taste Test on The Weekend Buzz
We’ll crack both of these brews from Founders Brewing open live on The Weekend Buzz this Friday, powered by Ben E. Keith Beverages. Tune in to hear the verdict, the chaos, and whether I can pronounce “imperial” correctly after round two.
