Texas THC Ban Vetoed: CBD House of Healing in Abilene Reacts to SB 3 Decision
Texas lawmakers came dangerously close to shutting down a huge part of the hemp industry this session. Senate Bill 3, if signed into law, would have banned all hemp-derived THC products like Delta-8 and Delta-9, legal, widely used alternatives that many Texans rely on for pain relief, anxiety, sleep, and more.
Thankfully, Governor Greg Abbott vetoed the bill, keeping these products legal, at least for now.

A Win for Texans, Not Just the Industry
Let me be clear, I was 100% against banning THC products that are already federally legal and widely used without issue across the state. SB 3 would have devastated small businesses, veterans, people with chronic conditions like my mother, and even farmers. It was a blanket ban dressed up as public safety, and it would’ve done more harm than good in Texas.

House Of Healing in Abilene Speaks Out
To talk more about what this means for Abilene, I sat down with Brittany from CBD House of Healing, a locally owned and operated wellness shop that’s been serving the Big Country for years. Brittany and her husband, Brennon, have been on our show before, and they are super excited about the bill being vetoed.
We talked about:
- What would’ve happened to their business if SB 3 had passed
- The wide range of people who rely on hemp-derived THC (hint: it’s not just "stoners")
- The frustrating back-and-forth in Texas legislation
- What needs to change to better support safe, legal access
Interview With Brittany From CBD House of Healing
This was just a portion of my interview with Brittany from CBD House of Healing. You can check out more when she joins me on The Weekend Buzz this Friday. I want to thank Brittany and her husband, Brennon, for their time and their fight against the ban.
As lawmakers continue to debate the future of cannabis in Texas, one thing is clear: people across the state aren’t backing down. Businesses like CBD House of Healing, and everyday Texans who rely on these products, are paying attention. The fight isn’t over, but for now, common sense won.
