Meet Ellery and 9 Other Dogs in Abilene Who Desperately Need Texas Homes
It’s time for another Urgent Pets update, and this week, there are 10 incredible pups at All Kind Animal Initiative (The PARC) in Texas who are still waiting for someone to walk through the door and say, “That one. That’s my dog.” Shelters are stretched thin, fosters are desperately needed, and these sweet souls deserve couches instead of kennels.
You can help.
Before you scroll through the gallery below, I want you to meet a couple of dogs who really grabbed my heart.

Ellery: A Senior Girl Who Just Wants You
Meet Ellery, a gorgeous chocolate-colored senior with eyes that say everything. She absolutely adores people and lives for human attention. Ellery would thrive as the only dog in the home, soaking up all the love (and honestly, she’s earned it).
Senior dogs are special. They’re calmer, deeply loyal, and just want a soft place to land. Ellery isn’t asking for much, just a quiet, loving home where she can be someone’s shadow, best friend, and couch companion.
Tiny: Shy, Gentle, and Worth the Patience
Tiny may be small, but her heart is huge. She’s a sweet little white pup who’s understandably nervous around new people and other dogs. Loud environments and sudden changes can scare her, so she’ll need a patient, calm home willing to go slow.
But here’s the beautiful part: once Tiny feels safe, her affectionate and loyal personality starts to shine. With time, love, and reassurance, she can absolutely blossom into a confident, happy companion. She just needs someone willing to believe in her.
