Builds & Bands in the Park Bringing Cars, Live Music, and Community Fun to Abilene
Abilene is getting ready for a day full of horsepower, guitars, and good vibes as Builds & Bands in the Park rolls into Centennial Park this summer in Texas.
This new event, which benefits Abilene Crime Stoppers, will feature a car show, live music, food trucks, and emergency response vehicles on display, all while raising money for a great cause right here in the Big Country.
Before anyone asks… no, this is not some elaborate sting operation designed to lure criminals out with classic cars and barbecue. It’s simply a fun community event supporting a program that helps keep Abilene safe.
A Car Show With Some Serious Muscle
If you love custom builds, classic rides, or anything with an engine that makes noise, this event is going to be worth checking out.
Daniel Salsman of Big Country Car Shows and Rick Tomlin of Abilene Crime Stoppers joined me on the show to discuss the event and said attendees can expect a wide variety of vehicles from around the region.
There will also be cash awarded for every category, which means builders are bringing their best. Check out the interview in the player below.

Supporting Abilene Crime Stoppers
The event is also shining a spotlight on Abilene Crime Stoppers, an organization that helps local law enforcement solve crimes by allowing people to submit anonymous tips.
Events like this help keep the program funded so it can continue helping keep Abilene safe. Plus, seeing some rad cars and hearing live music on a summer day in Texas is pretty dang cool, too.
