Texas, better get ready for Blue Bell’s newest summer treat: "Cookie Cake Ice Cream." While, it's not exactly new, it's a hot West Texas summer favorite.

If there’s one thing that helps us survive a scorching West Texas summer, it’s a cold scoop (or three) of Blue Bell Ice Cream. And now, y’all, Blue Bell has done it again. Just when I thought nothing could top Banana Fudge, bam! They’ve rolled out a brand-new (yet familiar) flavor that’s so good, your taste buds might high-five your tonsils: Cookie Cake Ice Cream.

What Is Cookie Cake Ice Cream?

According to Blue Bell Creameries, the newest flavor is a sweet cream ice cream loaded with chocolate chip cookie cake pieces and swirls of chocolate and vanilla icing. It’s like biting into a party, only colder, creamier, and way more Texan.

Cookie Cake Ice Cream is now available in both half-gallon and pint sizes, but only for a limited time. So, if you’re thinking about trying it, you better act fast.

A Sweet Return From the Past

You might be thinking this flavor sounds familiar, and you’d be right. Cookie Cake Ice Cream was first introduced in 2019 but hasn’t been seen in stores since 2020. Fans have been begging for its return, and thanks to the Great Scoop Revival Flavor Tournament, it’s made a sweet comeback as the runner-up.

Even better? The tournament winner, Groom’s Cake Ice Cream, is also making its way back into stores. That’s two Blue Bell favorites scooping their way into freezers across Texas.

Making Friends in the Freezer Aisle

The other night, my dear wife Donna and I stopped by Market Street for dessert, because nothing ends a date night like Blue Bell. I was aiming for Banana Fudge when I bumped into two charming older ladies on the hunt for Salted Caramel and Strawberries & Homemade Vanilla. After a friendly chat, they left with those old faithful flavors, and some new flavor adventures: Banana Fudge and Strawberry Toaster Pastry.

That’s the Blue Bell way, bringing folks together, one spoonful at a time.

Your Classics Aren’t Going Anywhere

Blue Bell knows Texans stick to their favorites like peanut butter to jelly. That’s why the classics like Homemade Vanilla, Cookies ’n Cream, and Dutch Chocolate are still holding strong. They’re not going anywhere, even as the freezer aisle fills with new flavor contenders.
