A Proud Tradition Since 1940

The very first Kiwanis Club of Abilene Pancake Day took place at the historic Windsor Hotel back in 1940. In all these years, the event has only been canceled twice, once during World War II and again during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, it’s back in full swing, bringing the community together for a day of great food, fun, and fundraising.

Celebrating 75 Years of Pancakes & Community Giving

This year’s Pancake Day and Auction is extra special as we celebrate 75 incredible years of bringing the Abilene community together for great food and a great cause! Since its humble beginnings in 1940 at the Windsor Hotel, this event has become a cherished tradition, only ever being canceled twice, once during World War II and again during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now, in its 75th year, the Kiwanis Club of Abilene is excited to make this the biggest and best Pancake Day yet.

Supporting Local Children & Community Organizations

Every dollar raised at Pancake Day goes directly to support local organizations that make a difference in children’s lives, including:

  • Boys and Girls Club of Abilene
  • New Horizons
  • Hendrick Home for Children
  • Christian Homes & Family Services
  • Christian Service Center
  • Ben Ritchie Boys Ranch
  • And many more!

How You Can Help

The Kiwanis Pancake Day motto says it best: "Kids need Kiwanis, and Kiwanis needs YOU to come eat pancakes." This is Kiwanis’ biggest fundraiser of the year, and there are many ways to support:

  1. Buy a ticket and enjoy a plate of pancakes
  2. Donate to help local children’s organizations
  3. Volunteer to be part of the event
  4. Spread the word and bring all your friends

For more information, to donate, or to volunteer, please call 325-673-1341. Remember, "Come hungry, leave happy, and make a difference in a child’s life." See you at the Kiwanis Pancake Day 2025.
