Hurricane Relief Efforts in Abilene
While there are many national organizations spearheading relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Harvey, there are also quite a few going on right here in Abilene.
Below is a list of ways you can help, locally, with Hurricane Harvey Relief.
Relief Drive for Victoria
Location: Townsquare Media Studios at 3911 South 1stWe are hosting a relief drive, at our studios, on Thursday. Donations of bottled water and cash will be sent to the small community of Victoria.
Relief Drive for La Grange
Location: Ya Ya Gurlz at South 1st and ButternutYa Ya Gurlz are currently accepting donations for many items to be taken down to the town of La Grange. Ya Ya Gurlz are located at the corner of South 1st and Butternut.
They are accepting donations during business hours, 10-6, or you can call them if you need to do it at another time! 325-437-4367
Hope: A Hurricane Harvey Relief Benefit
Location: The Zone Grill and Bar at 4638 S. 14thThis event will take place on Sunday, September 3rd at The Zone Grill and Bar.
There will be live music with by artists such as Tripp Mathis, Brenda Kay, Roger Rodriguez, Jonathan Hester, Jess Goodlett, Taylor Ochs, Chrissy Phillips, Matt Austin, and Dayne Pack.
There will also be a silent auction and raffles.
No cover charge, but donations are welcome.
100% of the monetary proceeds will go to the American Red Cross.
Pet supplies will go to the SPCA.
Clothing and other goods will go to the Salvation Army.
Hurricane Harvey Relief Benefit
Location: The Firehouse Bar & Grill at 2074 ButternutThe Firehouse Bar & Grill, and surrounding businesses, unite to host a benefit for Hurricane Harvey Relief.
This will take place on Sunday, September 17th.
It will start with a motorcycle poker run, around 10am, from Freeride Motorcycles. Then it will move to The Firehouse Bar & Grill for live music, raffles, silent auction, and more.
