The Abilene Police Department reported that Detective Elise Ybarra was killed in a car crash on Sunday as she and two fellow officers were on their way to a Crimes Against Children Conference in Dallas.

Not only is this a huge loss for the community, but it's an even bigger loss for her family. Ybarra leaves behind a husband and 10 month-old daughter. In times of such a tragic death as this, one thing a family never needs to worry about is the financial hardship that accompanies said death.

So, the Abilene Police Foundation and Abilene Police Officer's Association have set up a few ways the community can help the grieving family.

  • The APOA have an account has been set up at First Financial Bank to receive donations. The routing # is 111301122 and the account # 2110145014.
