Gina Rodriguez is set to star as Carmen Sandiego in Netflix's live-action film, Deadline reported on Monday (March 26).

The role marks her second outing as the titular criminal, as she was previously attached to voice the part for an upcoming animated show, also for Netflix, set to premiere in 2019.

Rodriguez, best known for her starring turn in The CW's Jane the Virgin, will produce the live-action iteration alongside Kevin Misher and Caroline Fraser. Andy Berman (Psych) will executive produce.

Carmen Sandiego began as a video game franchise in the '90s and was later adapted into an animated series. A release date for the movie has not yet been announced, though the story will be a standalone adventure. Neither a writer or director are currently attached.
