The Food Network's popular TV show called "Restaurant Impossible" starring the very strict Chef Robert Irvine is coming to Abilene. The show will be filmed later this month at Texas Cowboy BBQ on North Treadaway in Abilene, and they're looking for two kinds of volunteers.

If you've ever watched the show, Chef Robert Irvine is a very straightforward, no-frills chef (as you'll see in the video below) that is known for fixing failing and/or broken restaurants. The best part of the show and Irvine coming to Abilene is that the show is looking for all kinds of skilled volunteers and diners.

The "Diners" will be divided into two different meal settings. One is lunch before the Texas Cowboy BBQ restaurant gets its makeover. The second will be the Grand Re-Opening after the restaurant and menu have been updated.

The Restaurant Impossible press release says: "This event is on a first come first serve by email reservation only and we CAN NOT guarantee everyone who responds will get a table. If you are selected, you will receive a confirmation email."

However, Chef Robert Irvine is also looking for construction volunteers to help rebuild the restaurant and the good news is they'll be paid for their services. Those volunteers need to be skilled in painting, crafting, constructing, remodeling, cleaning, decorating, or upholstering.
