ERCOT Implements Energy Emergency Alert Level 1

ERCOT has implemented Energy Emergency Alert Level 1 due to physical responsive reserves dropping below 2300 MW.

Level 1 allows ERCOT to bring on generation and power from neighboring grids. Vice President of system planning and operations said in a release today that consumers and businesses should reduce their electricity usage from 3 to 7pm to avoid draining reserves. He also said they are still unsure if other additional emergency steps will be needed.

Rotating outages are not in place at this time.
