The event was organized by The 100 Black Men of West Texas. Lubbock Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope and Police Chief Floyd Mitchell were among those who spoke to the crowd, with Mayor Pope speaking about a message of unity and peaceful protests.
A near 30-minute long monologue by Tucker Carlson on FOX News took issue with elected officials and politicians who have allowed riots to continue for almost a week across major U.S. cities, including New York, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Houston and Chicago.
"If you have a short commute, and you're ten, twelve, maybe even fifteen miles away one way from work, when everyone gets back to work, you would never visit a gas station again. Yet, if you wanted to take this thing across the country on vacation, you could do that," Jerry said.
