10 Marvel Plot Threads That Don’t Make Sense
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a giant web of interlocking stories on a scale that’s never been existed before in cinematic storytelling. Over 18 movies to date (soon to be 19 with the release of Avengers: Infinity War, the directors, writers, producers, and executives of Marvel have done an incredible job building a massive, interconnected mega-franchise that, for the most part, fits together seamlessly.

Despite Marvel’s best efforts to build a perfect cinematic continuity, there are a couple examples of places where they dropped the ball. Whether that’s due to a lack of foresight, changing plans, or plain old fashioned bad writing, Marvel has, on occasion, given us a storyline or a subplot or a character choice that doesn’t line up with what’s come before (or what is established later). As I’ve been going through the MCU one film at a time in my History of the Marvel Cinematic Universe column, I’ve been keeping a running tally of all the biggest dangling plot threads. And here are the 10 worst ones, in roughly chronological order.
