White Buffalo Found Dead in Greenville
A young white buffalo has been found slaughtered days before its first birthday at a ranch near Greenville, Texas. Lightning Medicine Cloud’s body was found skinned on Lakota Ranch grounds by owner Arby Little Soldier late this week. The calf’s mother was found dead the next day.
In Native American culture the white buffalo is a sacred symbol of peace. The Hunt County Sheriff’s Department and the Texas Rangers are working on the case. Little Soldier says a birthday celebration planned for the twelfth will now be a memorial service for the calf and his mother.
