Two El Paso ISD Officials Reassigned Amid Federal Probe

Two El Paso school officials have been reassigned amid a federal probe into the district. A high school principal and an administrator were both reassigned in the El Paso Independent School District.

This comes amid allegations that students were improperly placed in grades to improve school ratings. The district said Tuesday documentation has been found showing that educators placed foreign transfer students into the 9^th grade in disregard of credit requirements.

The federal probe is looking to determine whether these actions were used to doge the No Child Left Behind Law. The allegations were denied by former Superintendent Lorenzo Garcia, however that was before he was indicted on unrelated fraud charges.
