Every week we will ask one of our local public figures a few questions - some serious, some not so serious. This week, restaurant owner Tom Perini talks about what it was like growing up and attending schools in Abilene.

Perini chuckled at first as he talked about how he wants to be remembered. Tom said "a nice person that loves people and a man that tried to make things better for everyone".

Tom also admitted he's got several charities he likes to help. In particular, the Ben Richie Boys Ranch and Rescue the Animals.

On the lighter side of things, Tom said if he could sit and chat with anybody in the world it would be Charles Goodnight, inventor of the 'chuckwagon' that was used in cattle drives.

If you have any suggestions for future Talk of the Town candidates or questions, feel free to drop them in the comments below.
