You may have heard an old anecdote around The Walking Dead, that initial network notes for the undead drama questioned whether the series needed zombies at all, but it seems AMC’s flagship hit was practically almost iZombie. Producer Gale Ann Hurd reveals that NBC wanted to tweak the premise into a police procedural solving zombie-related cases.

Just when you thought Fred Armisen’s deleted SNL finale sketch the last of Season 41 to hold you over for summer, in swoops a bonus round of celebrity Star Wars auditions! The prospect of a Hannibal future seems farther and farther each day, with Bryan Fuller split between American Gods and Star Trek, and its stars all off in their own galaxy, though fans well know the most fertile ground left to cover would be that of Silence of the Lambs. Rights issues made it impossible before, but Mads Mikkelsen claims NBC was close at the time of Hannibal’s cancellation.

SNL has had a steady 2016 with hosts like Adam Driver, Larry David and Melissa McCarthy, but is March looking a little ho-hum? Following Jonah Hill and Future on March 5, SNL confirms that actor/singer Ariana Grande will pull double duty as both host and musical guest for the following week.

Back in those optimistic days of 2015, SNL made a trumpeting announcement that Taran Killam would succeed series vet Darrell Hammond under Donald Trump’s famous hair, though the impression seemed to have been retired with the presidential candidate’s actual hosting. Hammond has resumed the role ever since, with Killam shifting into the role of Texas senator Ted Cruz, though it seems SNL had in mind to tap Jimmy Fallon’s Trump impression in December, before returning the role to Hammond.
