Do You Know the Difference Between Popular and Electoral Votes?

Well here we are again about to choose our next President. However, before we get to election night we need to review what it takes to get elected to office; that means reviewing the electoral vote vs. popular vote.

Did you know a Presidential candidate can win the popular vote and still lose the election by not winning the electoral votes? It sometimes seems that our vote doesn't count when that happens.

It's hard to understand and even harder to explain this process. So I found a couple of videos to help us understand this strange election process. The electoral college has a long history being designed in the 1700's. Things have changed over the last 200 years and maybe so should this but for now this is what we have to work with.

The first video explains the difference between electoral and popular votes. The second video will tell you the problems with this process. They do a much better job than I ever could.
