You never know what kind of characters will stumble into a Waffle House on any given day. Case in point: Kid RockGretchen WilsonTanya Tucker and the others who pop up in Bill Anderson's new "Waffle House Christmas" video.

It all goes down at a Nashville-area Waffle House. Kid Rock plays a cook who just can’t seem to keep on the straight and narrow — he even puts his fingers in the food, much to the disdain of Wilson and Tucker's characters.

"That’s the craziest thing I’ve ever been a part of," Anderson says of the video in a recent interview. "We just decided to see how crazy we could get with it. Fortunately, we had the blessings of the Waffle House people. They sent one of their executives up for the day. One or two times I think we might have gone over the top, and he said maybe we shouldn’t do that."

Other co-stars in the video include Ira Dean of Trick Pony, singer/comedian Joe Denim, the song’s co-writer Erin Enderlin and popular country radio personality Kelly Ford from Cumulus Media’s Mornings with Ty Kelly & Chuck.

But most of the attention is on Rock, who is the breakout star of the clip.

"You can see, he’s a great actor," Anderson says. "He came out to the bus and we talked for a while. He was just as nice as he can be."

Detroit native Rock is set to serve as the Grand Marshall of the 65th annual Piedmont Natural Gas Nashville Christmas Parade on Saturday (Dec. 1).
