This past Saturday (Oct. 27), conservative political commentator Candace Owens claimed that Kanye West had designed Blexit merch, which is a new collection of gear created to encourage Black people to stop supporting Democrats. Now, Yeezy has jumped back onto Twitter to distance himself from the apparel and politics all together.

Speaking on the matter of Blexit, Yeezy makes it clear he doesn't want to be affiliated with the merch, which drew immediate backlash upon its unveiling this past weekend.

"I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine," Kanye says in one tweet. "I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it."

That tweet was just one of several Yeezy let off earlier this evening. For the bulk of the tweets, Yeezy suggests that his influence has been used in a way that doesn't reflect his value system.

"My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in," he wrote in the final tweet of his stream-of-conscious thread. "I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative !!!"

While Kanye never mentions President Trump, or anything related to the Republican party, his tweets could be taken to be an attempt to distance himself from the narrative of his being Trump's lapdog. Then again, maybe not. Any way you look at it, it's clear that Kanye is doing some thinking.
