The original version of the popular TV show ran from 1993-2002. It looks like FOX is now ready to bring back Scully and Mulder for a whole new generation of fans to enjoy.

It's been rumored for some time that the FOX network was in talks to bring back the highly rated X-Files, a show about two FBI agents that investigate paranormal situations.

I seems everyone is on board to bring back the show for fans but it's all about timing at this point. Scully, played by Gillian Anderson, is currently on a BBC show 'The Fall' while Mulder, played by David Duchovny, is starring in an NBC show 'Aquarius' due in May. The shows creator Chris Carter is also on board.

The initial airings of the show were so popular that it spawned 2 feature movies. According to the network they are interested in reviving the sci-fi show, saying that they have indeed talked with the stars about a future project.

Fans are already going nuts with just the hint of a reboot, starting hashtag campaigns on Twitter to get the show back on.

What are your thoughts: bring it back or leave it retired?
