The latest trailer for Inferno is, unfortunately, not as intriguing as the last, but if you’re a big fan of exposition, then this one is for you. Tom Hanks and Ron Howard reunite for the third and final chapter in the Da Vinci Code trilogy, which sees our puzzle-solving protagonist Robert Langdon battling the apocalypse — at least it seems less painful than that one with the X-Men.

Like the previous films in the trilogy, Inferno looks like a dad version of Blue’s Clues or Dora the Explorer — it feels like Hanks is inviting you to shout answers at the screen. And instead of an animated animal sidekick, Hanks gets something much better with Felicity Jones, who joins Dan Brown’s literary protagonist on his most dangerous mission yet. Although the new trailer is heavy on exposition and pretty basic, the plot seems promising, if a little evocative of The Bourne Identity:

Academy Award® winner Ron Howard returns to direct the latest bestseller in Dan Brown’s ("Da Vinci Code") billion-dollar Robert Langdon series, Inferno, which finds the famous symbologist (again played by Tom Hanks) on a trail of clues tied to the great Dante himself. When Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones), a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories. Together, they race across Europe and against the clock to foil a deadly global plot.

As with the previous trailer, the best shot is of a Shining-esque onslaught of blood pouring out of a building and coming straight for Felicity Jones. That’s just nutty enough to make Inferno seem more interesting than this new trailer implies. Maybe. Hopefully.

Inferno also stars Irrfan Khan, Omar Sy and Hanks’ A Hologram for the King co-star Sidse Babett Knudsen, and hits theaters on October 28.
