#FireColbert Tweets Surge After Stephen Colbert’s Racy Trump Joke
They say a comedian is supposed to say the things other people won’t. If that’s the case, Stephen Colbert has certainly done his job.
The Late Show host found himself at the center of a storm after he made a joke about Donald Trump during his monologue during Tuesday night’s show that has resulted in the #FireColbert hashtag on Twitter.
During a rapid fire series of jokes about the president, Colbert said, “The only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin’s (expletive) holster.” The clip, which has exploded with nearly three million views at press time, has gone viral.
This whole punchline has sent the Twittersphere into a tizzy, with some people calling for his ouster and some defending him. His joke has shined a light on the great divide between Trump supporters and Trump detractors. Take a look at some of the tweets below.

#FireColbert This point is lost on many, the point is the complete hypocrisy that surrounds the left on this issue. Sad!

Leftists only pretend to care about free speech when a fellow lefty is speaking. Otherwise it's "hate speech" & must be banned. #FireColbert

Liberals don't want CBS to #FireColbert but they want Twitter to ban me for cracking jokes about gay people. Google: Hypocrisy.

When you support a man who is on tape bragging about grabbing women's p*ssies, you've lost all moral authority. Quit whining re #FireColbert

Nice try, #FireColbert; you weren't watching Colbert anyway. Your idea of late night is Nascar and Honey Boo Boo reruns after a meth bender.

I see #FireColbert is trending. I wonder if he'll suffer the same horrible fate that Starbucks and Hamilton suffered after their boycotts

To all you #FireColbert folks who suddenly care about homophobia, your choice of VP believes in conversion therapy. Look it up.
