Do you remember Thor: The Dark World? Because Chris O’Dowd, a man who actually appeared in the film, does not.

Look at this incredible interview from MTV. O’Dowd, who was at Sundance promoting his new series State of the Union, was asked about Avengers: Infinity War. In that movie (SPOILERS) half the universe is wiped out by Thanos, which gives O’Dowd’s Thor character a 50/50 shot of survival. So MTV wanted to know what he thought happened to Richard.

It’s a layup, right? Super easy question for O’Dowd to riff on and say something hilarious. But no! O’Dowd can’t because he appears to have no memory of the entire experience! Take a look:

If you, like Chris O’Dowd, are a little hazy on the whole Thor: The Dark World thing, here is his big scene from the film, a disastrous date with Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster. She is still pining for Thor, who’s supposedly left Earth forever. Then he comes back about two scenes later.

Dark Wooooooorld!!!!

Look, at least Chris O’Dowd doesn’t pretend he has vivid memories of Thor: The Dark World (or its title, which he could also not recall). And once his memory was jogged he did come around to making a Thanos snap prediction for his poor Richard: “I have a good feeling about it.”

So I guess look for Richard in Avengers: Endgame, coming this April 26!
