Hear John Legend and Ariana Grande Belting in Final ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Trailer
About a month and a half separate the viewing public from the much-hyped live-action remake of Disney’s essential fairytale Beauty and the Beast. While regular TV viewers and net-surfers can look forward to an uninterrupted stream of commercials and ads until then, Disney has given one last push of publicity today with the final trailer promoting their handsomely-appointed new film. And as if to sweeten the deal, they included a snippet of the previously announced re-recording of the majestic theme tune, as sung by La La Land jazz-diluter John Legend and travel-size pop starlet Ariana Grande.
Dane DeHaan’s Not Feeling Well in New ‘A Cure for Wellness’ Clip
Time and time again, Gore Verbinski has been thoroughly played by the flighty attitudes of moviegoers and Hollywood executives. His delightful animated Western Rango wrongfully doesn’t enjoy the stature of Pixar and Disney’s recent successes, and his take on The Lone Ranger is remembered today as a massive flop instead of the generously enjoyable spoof it was...
What in God’s Name Is Going On in the Trailer for Netflix’s ‘The Discovery’?
The trickle of trailers hyping Sundance premieres continues with a new glimpse at The Discovery, an enigmatic sci-fi project that Netflix snatched up back in the summer. As we say in showbiz, there’s a lot of heat behind this one: the stacked cast collects endearing goof Jason Segel, Rooney Mara (how dare she look this good with bleached-blonde hair), Kirsten Dunst spouse Jesse Plemons, starlet on the rise Riley Keough, and how about that, Sundance king Robert Redford. Director Charlie McDowell also arrives with a handsome pedigree, having last helmed the metaphysical romance The One I Love, and it looks like he’s going high-concept once again for his new feature.
Ireland Looks Bloody Brutal in First ‘Bad Day for the Cut’ Trailer
This morning, our trusty staffers Matt Singer and Erin Whitney head off to Park City, Utah for the Sundance Film Festival, the biggest week in American indie cinema. For us commoners who won’t be able to attend, however, we’ll have to subsist on the steady stream of coverage along with the deluge of trailers that always accompanies these parade of premieres. The next week-or-so will offer first looks at the toast of the fest in an effort to get the general public gassed for an eventual wide release, and the fun got going today with a sneak peek at one of the Midnight selections.
Love and Sketchy CGI Abound in ‘My Pet Dinosaur’ Trailer
Christmas day, 2007: millions of happy families file out of opening-day screenings for kid-friendly fantasy film The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep. As moms and dads dab at the corners of their eyes to clean up the last of their tears, youngsters breathlessly effuse over the film’s combination of treacly sentimentality and off-putting, underdeveloped CGI. “I love the water horse!” they’d cry. “I can’t wait for another movie pairing a precocious, lonely boy with a mythical, weirdly-rendered beast in which they teach one another a valuable lesson about what it means to love!”

Chances are, you’re currently reading these words on a phone, computer, or tablet manufactured by Apple. Maybe on your morning commute, you listen to music downloaded from the ITunes Music Store. If you are an on-the-go sort of person who’s not afraid to be made fun of, you may have an Apple Watch wrapped around your wrist right now. The tech giant’s influence has permeated so many facets of modern life, and as we patiently await Apple’s big foray into the burgeoning field of teledildonics, they’ve announced plans to plant their flag on one more heated battlefield.
Things Get Steamy, and Deadly, in Extended ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Trailer
It’s every woman’s fantasy: not the perfect man, but the man who is perfect in all ways except one, which can only be changed with the gentle touch of a lover. Anastasia Steele, the Dakota Johnson-played protagonist of the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise, shares this widespread fixer-upper fetish, and she makes as much clear in the new trailer for Fifty Shades Darker. In the film disappointingly not titled Fifty-One Shades of Grey, Ana accepts Christian back into her life under the condition that he cut it out with all the brooding angst that originally attracted her to him and got old pretty quickly. They let one another back into their lives (and beds, and red-lit sexual torture chambers), but tragedy may cut the honeymoon phase short.
The Miracle of Life Has a Taste for Death in Bizarre ‘Prevenge’ Trailer
Prevenge is, in the simplest terms, the movie about the pregnant woman convinced her fetus is ordering her to murder the people around her. It’s a pretty out-there logline, one that earned the film a handful of festival dates where it played to shocked, baffled, and delighted crowds ready to anoint a cult classic in the making. There’s more to it than the grabby premise, though; films with great concepts are not necessarily great films, but Prevenge has a strong wave of praise behind it suggesting that English first-timer Alice Lowe has the filmmaking chops to back up the promise of her script.
