The Red Raiders are down to their third string quarterback for the rest of the game against the Sooners. Alan Bowman, who started at quarterback for Texas Tech against Oklahoma, didn't come on to the field for the third quarter.

The ABC television broadcast at about the 7:30 mark of the third quarter said Bowman wouldn't return, and at that time he was still in the Texas Tech locker room.

Additional information came to light later in the quarter, through social media.  Bowman was suffering "breathing issues" after taking a hard hit late in the second quarter near the Oklahoma end zone.

If Jett Duffey suffers difficulties in the fourth quarter, Kingsbury could try to play an injured McLane Carter or bring in fourth-string quarterback Colt Garrett.

After three quarters, Oklahoma led Texas Tech, 35-31.
